I've made this smoothie as a Valentine's gift for my boyfriend David (ahhhhh....). I probably ought to get him a proper present too, but this'll be a good start!
David has a big sweet tooth, but hates coconut and pineapple - a constant challenge when you're trying to make healthy sweet recipes, coconut especially. Watching his face when I got him to try my turmeric smoothie the other day made me remember not all recipes are for everyone!
So this is for him. I'm hoping it'll be sweet enough for him to enjoy, stuffed with berries it's got a fantastic deep pink colour. Boys love pink.
Rustle this one up for Valentine's Day, or any other day of the year for that matter! And make it for yourself: self-love is the first step to loving others better.
PREP TIME: 5 minutes
COOK TIME: 0 minutes
1 small cooked beetroot (approx. 75g)
4 large strawberries (approx. 80g)
1 small pear (approx. 50g)
1 tbsp yoghurt (use dairy free if you need)
1 tbsp flaxseeds
1 tsp acai powder
200ml almond milk
1. Blitz everything together in a nutribullet or food processor and serve over ice!
