Apple, pear and wheatgrass smoothie

Apple, pear and wheatgrass smoothie

Debenhams are running a Health Kickstart campaign this month and they asked me to get involved by creating a smoothie recipe I could make in a Nutri Ninja Professional 900W Blender and Smoothie Maker. Always a sucker for a new gadget I jumped at the chance and created this tasty green smoothie with sweetness of fruit and filling oats.

Beetroot tahini smoothie

Beetroot tahini smoothie

This is a recipe which when I sampled it for the first time I actually let out an exclamation of "OOOH LUSH!" to absolutely no-one at all in the empty apartment around me. Imagine making a smoothie so delicious that you exclaim out loud the first sip you take. Then go and buy all the ingredients (if you don't already have them) and make it for yourself.

Matcha Green Tea 'Frappuccino'

My hard working colleague has been in Asia this month and I'm jealous of all the yummy meals she's had. Aside from all the noodles and amazing food, one of my biggest addictions in Asia is a Green Tea Frappuccino from Starbucks 💚💚💚... They must be SO full of sugar but they are such a brilliant drink and perfect for cooling down when whizzing between meetings. Starbucks, why don't you have them in Europe?! 😁

So when she said she was having one, I was determined to make my own at home! It was nearly the same flavour and I don't have an ice crushing machine obviously... But it's as close as I'll get until October when I go back to China and to Korea for the first time. Have you tried these?

SERVES: 1
PREP TIME: 5 minutes
COOK TIME: 0 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • Ice
  • 1tbsp Matcha green tea powder
  • 250ml almond milk
  • 1tbsp coconut cream
  • 1tbsp honey (or sweetener of choice)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Mix together the almond milk, coconut cream, sweetener and green tea powder in a jug, adjusting the sweetener to taste. You might find your green tea powder is less lumpy if you add this to your jug first with a small amount of milk and make a paste. Then add the other ingredients.

2. Pour over ice and enjoy! Seriously refreshing

Coconut and Beetroot Smoothie

I made this to be part of a #pinknourishments competition on Instagram run by the quite incredible Anthea at Rainbow Nourishments. Her photos are amazing!

I wanted to prove it was possible to make a sweet tasting smoothie, with absolutely no need for dried fruit or added sweetener. See what you think.

Acai Smoothie Bowl

This recipe was inspired by Nathalie Sader who was celebrating #Nathaliesader40k. Figs are just so stunning I am freezing loads to have in the autumn. I've got a long way to go with my decorations compared with the 'pros' of Instagram blogging community, but I made a little start using natural yoghurt and fresh mint leaves from the garden.

SERVES: 1
PREP TIME: 5 minutes
COOK TIME: 0 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 60g blueberries
  • 60g blackberries
  • 4cm cucumber
  • 1 tsp acai berry powder

  • Toppings - I used 1 fresh fig, blueberries, fresh mint, dessicated coconut and Nakd Coconut Bliss Nibbles
